FALLing into Cooking.........

Not sure if everyone is like me, but when the weather takes a turn towards the cooler temperatures, I get the urge to nest and cook.  The Fall air just makes me want to bake and drink hot chocolate.  So, being we are officially into the Fall season, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite cookbooks.

"Sunday in the South" is more like a coffee table story book.  It has over 350 photographs in it.  And I don't know about you, but I need some motivation to cook.  And nothing does that better than a great photograph of the dish.  In the book the author, Ginny McCormack, shares with the readers her passion for the lost tradition of Sunday dinner with the family.  We all get so busy, that sometimes we forget to sit down with our families and just chat one-on-one.  This cookbook will have you scheduling a Sunday dinner feast right away!

We invited Ginny to our gift shop for a book signing this Spring and our customers had such a fun afternoon visiting with her and exchanging recipes.  Ms. McCormack lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and 4 children.

The cookbook is chock full of some decadent dishes!

And the styling throughout the book is wonderful....

It's like a story book......

Is your mouth watering yet?????

My favorite recipe is her chocolate chip cookie bars.  You can find this recipe on her website....and it's really easy to make too!

Many of these photos are from Ginny McCormack's website.  And this is just a small sampling of the mouth-watering pictures that can be found throughout her cookbook.  Sometimes I get a cup of tea or coffee and just sit and look through it, getting all kinds of wonderful dinner ideas.

For additional information on "Sunday in the South" you can go to http://www.ginnymccormackcooks.com/

So tell me.......what is your all-time favorite cookbook?

English Tea Bargain

Was out and about hitting the flea markets this weekend and what did I spot?????......but these beautiful Johnson Brother's teacups........it was a mixed set....4 cups, 2 saucers, 1 bread plate, 1 small bowl.  A little chippy here and there.....but, oh, so charming........I picked the set up for $5.00!!!!  So I just mixed them all together and got this cute little tea set.....What a bargain!!!!

                      Just love the floral pattern........

Maybe I should take a cup of tea out to the garden??

Can't get enough of the floral pattern.....

Vintage Evening Handbags

Last week you saw that I love antique pins.......and this week I'm sharing with you my other weakness.......vintage evening bags......I just can't resist them for some reason.  Everytime I'm in walking thru a flea market or attending an outdoor market.....I'm drawn to these handbags like metal is to a magnet!

Particularly like the black patterns with rhinestones and all things glittery!

And the tapestry ones are the best.....

And of course the rosettes rule!

And the off-white tapestries.....Ou, la, la....

Each and everyone of them telling a story of years past.......

Now tell me, what do you collect?????

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will become a follower!

Getting Pinned.....

I must confess that I have a pin fetish......I just love to collect them and display them.  The vintage ones are the best........because they all have a story to tell.......let's see.....what have they been up to........hmmmm.......

So elegant and whimsical......perhaps I was worn to church on Sunday......

I'm sure I must have attended a baby shower or wedding shower......

I was worn to a wedding........or perhaps I adorned some evening wear on New Year's Eve......

I must have been out at a luncheon......

I was given as a gift from a boyfirend on Valentine's Day......don't you think?

Snowflakes are always a favorite, especially at the holidays......was I a gift for someone at Christmas??

I was just a busy bee out for an afternoon with the girls.....

Oh, I know I must have gone someplace good!......

Sometimes we all get together just to spend time together!

Love all my vintage pins!

Thanks for stopping by my new blog and I hope you will follow me too!
