It's been a while since I last posted.........it's been busy and we have been out an about doing gift/vendor shows.  We also have opened a booth at Blackbear Antiques in Ellijay, GA, right off 515.  If you are ever up in that area, stop on by.  We are booth CHLOE.  Now is a good time to go to north GA, with the Fall coming and the Apple Fest event happening in October!

Ultimate Easter Basket Find!

Well Happy Easter everyone!  And in that spirit, I want to share with you my latest thrifting find.  I found this cute wicker Easter Egg at Goodwill last weekend.  I think I only paid about $1.50 for it.  It is adorable and fun.  Here's some photos of it.......

So now, I'll have to dress this basket up for Easter.   I'll be filling it up with Easter grass, jelly beans and chocolate eggs when I get it home today!

Yesterday I was out an about and had to make my rounds at the thrift shops.  My all time favorite is Goodwill and I wanted to share the treasure I picked up there shopping!

Look at this beauty.  Just love trays and especially the tole painted ones.  It's a little chipped here and there, but oh, its so beautiful!

And look at that price!  Can't beat it!

It is adorned with gorgeous roses.......

Oh, and those elegant Hydrangeas............

Let's not forget the ever promising Rose Bud too......

This tray will be perfect for serving drinks on.........

It even has handles for carrying!

The Wikipedia definition of tole, from the French term,  tôle peinte, is painted sheet metal.  And it is definately the most pretty piece of sheet metal that I have seen in a long time.  Makes me want to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine.  The wine sounds better!

Hey All.........I haven't blogged in a while...........been super busy at my shop and with my family.  But I thought I'd share a great book with you all on this cold snowy day.  Yes, we are expecting snow in Georgia today!

  

VINTAGE is one of my favorite books, because as you must have figured out, is set in a vintage dress/accessories shop in Madison, Wisconsin.  The name of the shop is Hourglass Vintage and the owner Violet Turner, take you on a tour of owning a shop like this.  You her follow along on the daily adventures of shopping for vintage items and engaging customers.

It's a great read for a snowy day, while you are curled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea.  You'll be warmed by the friendships and bonds made with her new employee, April, and a dear customer, Amithi.  April is pregnant when she begins to help Violet at her shop, hoping to bring the bookkeeping methods up to date and to computerize everything for the shop.  And Amithi is a favorite customer of Violet's, who is betrayed by her husband.  She begins selling her Indian clothing items to the Vintage Hourglass shop, in an effort to leave her past life behind.  Violet pleasantly discovers that Amithi is a fabulous seamstress, which comes in handy at the shop.

This is a must read for anyone interested in vintage clothing, vintage shops, flea markets, etc.  It is very heartwarming and such a great book to enjoy!

French Script Treasure.....

Haven't been blogging for a while, only because we have been busy at the store re-doing and moving things around for the new buying season.

So now that the store is all situated, I finally found some time to scoot out and do some treasure hunting in Atlanta.......so here is my first and recent find.....and I'm so in love with it!

Found this baby at a Woodstock Flea Market....ou, la, la......

Looks so good in my front hallway......

Can't you tell I'm in love with the French Script stuff......

The shade just makes it......of course......

The base is not too bad either......a good match for the shade......don't you think?



It fits so perfectly with my antique table......looking for a table runner to complete the look.....will keep you posted!

Hope you all are enjoying Spring.......I have Spring fever bad!  Only because it is about 75 degrees here in the Atlanta area.......but I'll take it!

Wino Cheer

The holidays are here and it's time to bring out my favorite Christmas Holiday wine glasses........they make an appearance every holiday season.  Purchased them at a local flea market and they are just so cute.......they make me smile everytime I see them......<smile>

Turkey Mosaic

Every year my favorite Mosaic Turkey comes out of storage and makes an appearence in the month of November.  I've decided that she is a female Turkey and we have named her Isabelle.  She just seemed like an Isabelle to me.  Very majestic and colorful!  We have her sitting proudly in our great room, so that she can show off her many colors all throughout the Thanksgiving season......

We can't wait to see her each Fall.  Kind of miss her when we store her away after Thanksgiving......

Love the many colors and the light inside, that makes her so brilliant..............

 Even the back of her is beautiful!

I think she is trying to tell us that she is very glad to see us too!

Well welcome back, my old friend, we are very happy to see you again for Thanksgiving this year!  We all have so much to be thankful for.  You are a reminder of what is so special to us all.
